Centre for Material Thinking

What is material thinking? What does it mean to think with, through and about the material world? In the first stage of our journey through material thinking, we brought together scholars and creative practitioners from different departments across Aberystwyth University. This took the form of three collaborative research seminars held online between February and May 2022 (see our Events page for the recordings). We asked each participant to talk about what ‘material thinking’ meant to them in their research and/or creative practice. The presentations were then adapted for an online space. This is an ongoing project, and further iterations will be added as they evolve. If you have an idea to add to the site, please get in touch.
